Our Missionary Farewell, 11 Dec. 2022

Bruce and I gave our missionary farewell talks in the Mendon 3rd Ward on Sunday. We felt so loved with all the friends and family who attended. Thank you for your love and support. My dear friends from high school and college put on an amazing luncheon.

We are filled with gratitude to Lisa Johnson, Keri Evans, LeeAnne McConnell, and Bonnie McHenry for planning and supervising. They took all the worry from us so we could concentrate on our talks and visits. I had family travel from St. George and Salt Lake to come see us. We had surprise visits from friends we haven't seen for years, previous wards, nurses from my work, and others we love.
Some of my Boud family siblings: Mike, Richard & Deni, and Jim & Linda

Chuck McHenry, Bruce, and Bobbie McConnell at farewell luncheon at our home.

I testified of growing our faith and testimonies. I believe we choose to have faith and our faith in Jesus Christ is non-negotiable. I shared my testimony of why I choose to believe and be what I believe. Our beautiful young women sang a Christmas medley with "Away in a manager". A special thanks to Sara Lemon for arranging it.

Bruce told about the origin of the song "Joy to the world" by Isaac Watts, which really is about the second coming of the Savior and was not necessarily written originally as a Christmas song.

"Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most Hight, While Israel spreads abroad.  Like stars that glitter in the sky, and ever worship God, and ever worship God."

He talked about the blessings of the temple. He explained the YouTube video showing a timeline of temples being built around the world. Each time a temple was built or announced the area on the map lit up like a star giving more light to the world. Here's the link to that video. It's powerful to watch!

We were officially set apart by our stake president, Pres. Shawn Osborne, that evening with our children and grandchildren surrounding us at Bruce's 87-year-old mother, Doris's home.

We were given beautiful blessings and are now full-time missionaries! We are excited to be representatives of the Lord, Jesus Christ and wear our name badges.
