Sabbath day at Glenview and Lunch at 34 North; 70 year old birthdays

Tinashe, Noktatenda, Nyashe, Tatenda, & Noforro Chanyandura attend Glenview Ward, 2023.10.08

On October 8th, the Andersons drove to the Glenview Ward to attend church. We met the Chanyandura family there. We loved re-listening to the Sunday afternoon session of General Conference; Pres. Nelson's is my favorite to "think celestial"! We were able to give Tinashe a white shirt and tie to wear. Sister Anderson took their photos for their marriage license application. The missionaries also set up some teaching appointments. We're excited for this wonderful family to join church membership. They are so beautiful with their three daughters!

After the meeting, we witnessed three baptisms in the Glenview Ward. What a beautiful day in white!

Sunday afternoon, Reeve and Lolly invited us to lunch. Dan Allen and his girlfriend, Linda were visiting from America and staying at 34 North. It was Dan's 72nd birthday. Dan is Megan Lewis's father. They had a vacation planned before Eric's accident. They decided to come and see Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls, Botswana, and then head to Cape Town. BTW, Elder Eric Lewis is recovering in the South African hospital and slowly taking some steps with crutches in rehabilitation. We continue to pray for Eric's recovery and will miss this amazing couple in our mission.
Happy "72nd" Birthday Dan Allen, the Nield Zimbabwean Way! Dan, Linda, Lolly, Reeve, and Iris celebrate with cake and a brie, 2023.10.08.
Lolly made a yummy "microwave" passionfruit cake; I'm getting the recipe.
Monday night was FHE at the Petersons. We celebrated Elder Guy Peterson's "70th" birthday. Wow, a lot of 70+ over new friends. I'm feeling a bit aged! Roz and Guy Peterson are leaving their mission after an 18-month humanitarian service. Tonight we learned about putting on the "whole armor" of God. Ephesians 6:10-18. Roz pointed out how "Above all, taking the shield of faith" is most important. As missionaries, we all feel our faith in Jesus Christ has been strengthened.
Happy "70" Guy Peterson, who puts on the whole armor of God, 2023.10.09
